Danny Amendola was pegged by the Patriots to be their go-to guy in the New England and he has not disappointed thus far in camp. Although the Pats will need one of their rookies (Aaron Dobson or Josh Boyce) to step up, Brady will be relying heavily on his veteran receiver.
Injuries have held back Amendola, but maybe those injuries were just bad luck or maybe he really is injury prone. Time will tell. I has been reported that the Pats will abandon their 2 TE sets for more 3 WR sets this season, so one of these young guys will have to step up. My early money is on Dobson. If Amendola can just play a full season, the 112 catches that Welker has averaged in his career as a Patriot, should be within range.
