The Texans knew they needed to upgrade their receiving corps after they lost to the Pats in the postseason last year. They just couldn’t keep up with the high octane offense in New England. Kevin Walter and a stable of busts haven’t been able to step up and get it done. Enter rookie DeAndre Hopkins. Who has been fantastic since the moment the Texans drafted him. Gary Kubiak has a kind words for his rookie WR:
“I don’t want to compare him to anybody but I think someone that I saw that young would probably be Larry Fitzgerald with that kind of hand-eye coordination and that kind of focus,” Kubiak said of Hopkins. “It’s great to have him on our team; it’s a huge weapon for us.”
I can definitely see Hopkins making an impact this season and being a nice late round WR to take a shot on. It’s not out of the question to think that he will catch 6o plus passes this season.
