Don’t Sleep On: Darrius Heyward-Bey

I’m a bad man Juan…

2011 Recap:  DHB had his best season as a pro, which wasn’t hard to do after a disappointing first 2 seasons in the NFL.  He became a good intermediate threat and actually started catching the ball, after big drops plagued him.  He finished the season with 64/974/4 on the season, but the QB situation was dicey last season to say the least.  His 9.3 points per game were good for 23rd among WRs.   His rapport with Carson Palmer gained steam down the stretch of the season and his last 2 games were 8/155/1 vs Det and 9/130/1 vs SD.

What’s Changed: Gregg Knapp takes over as OC and will run a style of West Coast Offense, but will not be shy about taking his shots.  Carson Palmer came in off the street in the middle of the season in 2011, but now will have a full season of OTAs and Training Camp under his wing.  This will only help the rapport with his WRs.

Outlook:  You know I have been pushing Denarius Moore all Summer, but his hamstring injury is taking a long time to heal and his ADP may be too high.  DHB can be had in the 8th round and could be the #1 target in a passing game that will be asked to throw a lot this season.
