I have to admit, I didn’t have a ton of confidence in Tony Gonzalez this season. Maybe it was ageism. I like my players with juice and upside. Didn’t see either with Gonzo, but I guess I didn’t use that thing between my ears either and realize that Roddy/Julio would open up the middle of the field.
Through 3 games, he has 21/214/3. These are monster numbers from the TE position. Especially a guy who was basically written off as a top option, behind guys like Jermichael Finley and Fred Davis. Nothing tells me that Tony G will slow down anytime soon.
