Pierre Thomas is one of the most underrated RBs in the NFL, IMHO. The Saints already have the most deadly RB out of the backfield with Sproles, but they want to get the run game cranked up and that will be PT/Ingram. Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune has this to say about Ingram:
“It’s hard to expect big things from him after he has looked so ordinary during his first two NFL seasons. But he did start to show some signs of improvement down the stretch last year. Ingram obviously has talent; he’s still just 23 years old, and he’s now fully healthy in the offseason for the first time in his NFL career. So if he’s ever going to have a breakthrough, all the pieces are in place this year.”
I will probably be avoiding Ingram, although he could end up with value if they would use him at the goaline. I have been grabbing Thomas late in a ton of mock drafts as I think he will have sneaky value again and I just don’t trust Ingram to stay healthy. Trust me, I have been wrong before.
