The Texans have been looking for a WR to play opposite Andre Johnson for quite some time now and they may have found their guy in Hopkins. Granted, they did take Lester Jean and Keshawn Martin in last year’s draft, so Hopkins will have to catch on quick to get on the field. Already getting compared to the skill set of Johnson, he could emerge this season as the WR2 in Houston.
Hopkins ran a 4.49 40 at the combine and is 6’1, so he has good size and speed. He just needs to clean up his route running and he could make an impact in the second half of 2013. I would temper my expectations in the Texans run heavy offense, as AJ will be the only reliable fantasy WR in this offense until Kubiak and company decide to open it up again.
