Knowshon Moreno is clearly the leader of the pack in the Broncos’ backfield according to John Fox. With Ryan Clady OUT for the season, Moreno has even more value as the best pass protecting RB on the team. With match ups that include Oak, Phi, Dal, Jac, Ind, and Was, Moreno could be a top 15-20 guy for the next 7 weeks.
Jay Gruden has stated that he will get Gio Bernard more involved in the offense. Captain Obvious agrees. With Gio the Bengals: 8.9 yds/play, 11.1 yds/pass, and 5.0 yds/rush. With the Lawfirm: 3.8 yds/play, 4.9 yds/play, and 2.8 yds per rush.
Tom Brady said the WR is a ‘real concern’. Of course it is. Julian Edelman is your only reliable targets. Brady has only completed 27.3% of his attempts when throwing to the rookie WR. When targeting Edelman/Amendola? He completes 73.2% of his attempts. Brady needs to be benched until Gronk and Amendola get back. Well, at least Gronk.
Rumors form ProFootballWeekly suggest that the Lions will bench Reggie Bush this week as a precaution. Joique Bell will instantly become a top 10 guy in PPR leagues. The Lions have completed the most pass yards to RBs this season. 253 yards to be exact. Theo ‘The Chronicles of’ Riddick could be a guy that gets some work as well.
Ray Rice will miss this weeks game after being an iron man over the last 4 years. Bernard Pierce has not been great this season so far, but has top considered a top 20 RB this week considering he will get 20 plus touches.
Rumors out of Atlanta are that Matt Ryan is supposed to throw more with Steven Jackson out of the lineup. Roddy is a decoy and can not be trusted. The Dolphins have a very good defense, so it will be tough sledding. Rodgers and Snelling with be the guys getting targeted out of the backfield, but both are reaches this week. Snelling should get the ball at the stripe, so he has more value in my opinion.
Ryan Broyles will make his season debut this week and could be a super deep sleeper if you need a flier. The Redskins D is getting trashed and Stafford should have his way this week.
Rob Housler is expected to make his first start of the season against the Saints. Fitz is banged up, so he could see an expanded role immediately. His return could also dip into Andre Roberts’ production. Something to watch.
Bill Callahan has made it clear that he wants to run the ball more, so Murray should get more work today. With Romo banged up a bit, this could come to fruition, or maybe the Boys’ just keep chucking it.
Vernon Davis is a true game time decision. He is the late game so you better have a backup plan. I would play a sure thing in the first games if you have someone.
Reports are that Trent Richardson will only receive 10-15 touches today. I’m benching him this week unless I am desperate.
Pierre Thomas is the best RB on the Saints and he will not have to deal with the slow plodding bag of crap, Mark Ingram today. He will get his chance today.
Fred Davis is inactive. You can drop him. Jordan Reed is now a very interesting choice in deeper leagues.
More to come tomorrow morning…
