When Greg Cosell breaks down film, I listen. He can be found on Sirius, Yahoo, and others. Here is his thoughts on Pats RB Stevan Ridley:
“I think Ridley has the physical attributes to be a volume sustainer,” said Cosell. “He’s a physical guy, excellent short area burst, speed through the hole, even speed to the perimeter on outside zone.”
His issues last season was his problem with holding onto the ball. As long as he doesn’t put the ball on the ground, he will have a chance to score double digit TDs in this offense.
Shane Vereen made strides and closed the gap between the two runners just a few weeks back, but Cosell doesn’t think it’s close.
“I will be surprised if Vereen makes it [as a major contributor],” said Cosell. “But that’s just me.”
Ridley will be the guy to grab in standard leagues and Vereen is a late round flier in PPR formats as he should take over the Kevin Faulk role in the offense which could lead to some serious reception numbers any give week.
