2011 Recap: Wells came into the season injured (shocking) and could never really sustain any type of consistency from a fantasy perspective. In fact, from week 6 on, Wells only scored 94.6 fantasy points with 28.8 points coming in one game. He has only one 100 yard game during that span and that was a 228 yard explosion against the Rams. During the first 4 games of the season he was the #1 RB in points per game as he had 5 TDs early on. After that he was 29th in fantasy points per game.
What’s Changed: Ryan Williams is healthy. The Cardinals really flirted with bringing Peyton Manning to town, but now they have to settle for Kolb/Skelton. Oh joy. Also, no real upgrade to their offensive line was made.
Outlook: It’s not like Beanie doesn’t have talent, he does. He also has bad genes for staying healthy. The Cardinals spent a 2nd round pick on Ryan Williams and they will get him involved this season. I would be so bold to say that if Ryan Williams is healthy this preseason, then Beanie Wells should be completely avoided, especially at his current ADP (69th overall).
