Let’s Get Wired Up!! Week 14 Pickups

We only have a few weeks left in the fantasy season, but for those lucky enough to make the playoffs, the work is not done.  We have to be on the lookout for the late season gems that could win you a championship.  Let’s look at some guys that could still be out on waivers and that you should be targeting this week.

If Nick Foles is still hanging around your waiver wire, get into a more competitive league and then go get him.  The schedule is mucho bueno –  Jay Cutler could be back this week or next, but he makes a very strong stash if you want a QB with a ton of upside.  Marshall and Jeffery are so good, how can he not be a top 5-10 guy.  If he remains out (week to week), insert Josh McCown’s name here – Joe Flacco is not known for fantasy goodness, but his schedule is Min, Det, and NE the next 3 weeks.  Add in the fact that his bestie, Dennis Pitta should be back and he could come through -Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled in real football at Indy this week, but came through for fantasy with 201/1 and 8/54/1 on the ground –  Montee Ball is starting to carve out a role for himself and he looks like a nice power runner to compliment Moreno.  Ball is looking better in pass pro and has a little juice too.  Moreno’s tears are about as big the upside of Ball, especially if Moreno misses any time – Jonathan Dwyer could get the start this week if Bell somehow can’t go.  He took a massive hit on Thanksgiving and doesn’t remember the play, which is never a good sign.  He was back running on Monday, but needs to pass all the tests.  As we saw with Jordan Reed, this is never a lock.  The Dolphins run D is no bueno, so Dwyer could be a decent flier if you need him – Antone Smith is a guy you should be targeting in dynasty or keeper leagues.  He has looked explosive in limited duty, but could be the guy next season if the Falcons decide to let the aging Jackson go – Julian Edelman is out their in some leagues (I will be picking him up in a 10 man league I am in) and should be owned.  There has to be a trust factor involved with Brady and could be the reason we see him getting a ton of targets.  When Brady has nicknamed his little buddy ‘Minitron’, you know they have a tight relationship.  I think Edelman is a guy who could lead you to a championship as a WR3 – Michael Crabtree popped off a little 60 yard catch and run last week, showing that he is back.  Remember how good he was last season with Kap?  He should be owned in all leagues – Dennis Pitta should return this week and he and Flacco are best buds, so the PPR magic could happen immediately.  If you are hurting at TE, you could be staring at a top 10 guy right here – Ladarius Green is one of my favorite keepers this year and he is showing off some of what we can expect in the future.  He getting a healthy amount of snaps and targets, so this is no fluke.  He flashes ridiculous athletic ability for a guy his size and with Royal out/Gates injured, he making plays.  Grab him in dyansty without a doubt – Oakland Raiders D faces the Jets who are an absolute mess on offense.  Apparently Geno will start again, but we could quickly see Matt Simms or even David Garrard.  Anyone one of these QBs could provide fantasy goodness for the Raiders D -
