Blackmon had the bad vibes flowing early in camp with the DUI and the holdout. After he signed I felt like he would be way behind and would struggle in his rookie year. Well, he “catching” on pretty quick. Here is his TD grab from last week:
In the 3rd and most important preseason game he finished with 4/72. His preseason total is now 8/120/1. Blackmon is very talented and that was not my concern coming into the season. It was Blaine “Happy Feet” Gabbert that I didn’t think would make the next step. Gabbert has settled down a ton in the pocket and only has eyes for Blackmon, who is playing the Roddy White position in the Mularkey offense. LoRo looks like he’s playing the deep threat, but it’s not really working for his stats. Late in drafts when you are looking for a flier with upside, take a shot with Blackmon.
