Jared Cook never really lived up to his ability in Tennessee, but gets a fresh start in St Louis with his former coach Jeff Fisher. It came out today that Cook will fill the role left behind Danny Amendola. This is potentially huge news as Cook could be the primary receiving option that was supposed to filled by rookie WR Tavon Austin. Jeff Fisher on Cook: “Jared has a giant receiving radius,” coach Fisher said. “With Sam’s accuracy, Sam can put the ball out of frame to complete it. And they work really well together.”
This is confirmed by Ian Rapaport who had this to say about Cook and Bradford: “already connected endlessly in camp, making one believe he’ll serve as Bradford’s security blanket like Danny Amendola was in 2012. What the coaches also like is that when Bradford throws it, Cook catches it.”
Throw and catch? Makes sense to me. While we try and figure out who will be the primary running option and how the WRs will shake out, maybe it’s time for Juan to smell what Jared is Cooking. Moving on up the ranks pronto.
