Driver On His Way Out? |
ProFootball Weekly has discussed the fact the Packers may not be able to retain the service of Donald Driver this season. The Packers would like to get Randall Cobb more involved in the passing game while developing young talent like Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel.
If there was a guy that I would be targeting in Dynasty Leagues right now it would be Randall Cobb. He showed some serious juice in his first season and could be in store for a major role in the passing game in the upcoming seasons.

RBBC: G-Men |
The NFL has changed. This is no longer your father’s Fantasy Football. Sh*t, it’s not your older brother’s Fantasy Football. This is a passing league that looks at RBs like they have Continue reading

PPR Analysis: WRs |
Victor Cruz
Remember that Steve Smith guy? Victor Cruz made many Giant fans as well as fantasy freaks forget about Mr Smith. Cruz didn’t even get a shot until week three and if we “Extrapolation Time” his receptions would be 90+ for the season. Couple that with his ability to move, shake, and salsa into the endzone and Cruz could be set for another big year in all leagues.
Percy Harvin
How can you not like Percy Harvin? The guy does it all and might have to again in 2012. With AP possibly on the shelf to start the season, Harvin may have to rush the ball more than we expected. Even though the Vikings were clueless on how to use Harvin early in the season he still had over 1,300 total yards and 8 TDs. Now that they pulled their heads out of their asses, Harvin could be a top 10 WR this season.
Brandon Marshall
We have been waiting for Cutler to get a legit WR in Chi-Town since he arrived. Now, he gets his bosom buddy from Denver to play catch with. The two became full time starters in 2007 and Jay targeted his besty 352 times between 2007-2008. Marshall combined for 206 receptions, 2,590 yards, and 15 TDs. Marshall has never been a big TD guy, but 100 receptions is 100 receptions. Get ready for Cutler to force feed the ball to Marshall, again.
Wes Welker
Wesley Welkah is a PPR machine. He has grabbed at least 112 receptions in 4 out of the last 5 seasons and despite the lack of huge TD numbers, in PPR leagues outscored Megatron in half the games in 2012. Brandon Lloyd joins the Boston Tea Party, but may actually open up the middle of the field for WW to operate.
Roddy White
For the second straight season, Whitey had 100 receptions or more and led the NFL in targets for the second straight season as well. This was all with the talented rookie Julio Jones lined up across the way. Jones will cut a bit more into his production, but Matty Ryan will be chucking the rock more too. White is as safe and solid as they get in PPR leagues.
More Best of the Best: Dwayne Bowe, Larry Fitz, Megatron
Miles Austin
Austin has a great rapport with Romo and with LoRo in Jacksonville, those 79 targets and 54 receptions will have to go somewhere. Bryant still has to show he can get it done consistently. If Austin’s hamstrings hold up this season than we could see him get closer to his 2009 breakout campaign of 123 targets and 81 receptions.
Antonio Brown
Brown took advantage of single coverage and was able to use his great route running, hands, and quickness to become a top 15 PPR option in the second half of 2011. Brown will need Wallace back to take away coverage and the new offense needs to gel, but Brown showed that he can be a PPR stud with an 15 PPG average in the last 10 weeks of the season.
Eric Decker
Going from Tim Tebow to Peyton Manning is like going from VHS to Blue Ray. Decker suffered big time in the run first Tebow experiment and should flourish with Peyton behind center. Decker could play several different positions and may have a huge impact if he gets 125 targets this season. 90 receptions would not be out of the question.
Lance Moore
With Meachem in Stay Classy San Diego, the Saints WR corp is thinned out. We know Colston and Graham will get theirs, but Moore is once again flying under the radar. In his last 8 games of 2011 he had 29 receptions and 7 TDs. If he can stay healthy and produce like that for an entire season, we are looking at easily 60-70 receptions and 8-10 TDs.
Other Solid Options: Danny Amendola, Kenny Britt, Reggie Wayne
Doug Baldwin
Even with all the issues the Hawks had with their other WRs and QBs, Baldwin still had 51 receptions as an undrafted free agent. With a healthy Sidney Rice and a step up at QB, Baldwin is a sneaky pick in PPR leagues.
Earl Bennett
We are reaching for guys here, but with Marshall in the fold and Jeffrey coming in as a rookie, Bennett should find himself in the slot for Da Bears. Last season he was only really healthy with Cutler in 3 games and had 14 catches for 251 yards. He could find himself with 60 receptions this season.
Greg Little
Greg Little Hands was attempting to catch floating dead ducks from Colt McCoy last season while being too buffed up for his own good. Now, he’s slimmed down and will have bullets from Brandon Weeden headed his way. The Browns have been working him out of the slot which will add up to bunches of targets and receptions.
Brian Quick
Quick is getting early rave reviews, which shouldn’t be that hard considering the pile of sh*t the Rams have for a receiving corp. If anything, Quick should be the starter from day 1 and get a boatload of targets, which will lead to muchos receptioniones!
Jordan Shipley
Sanu was drafted to be the #2, but Shipley was off to a great start to his career till an ACL tear stopped him in his tracks. With A.J. Green in tow, the Bengals offense will need a reliable guy on the opposite side. Shipley could be that guy.
Nate Washington
If you trust that Britt will be healthy all year and Kendall Wright will be an instant hit, than stop reading now. Nate the Not So Great Washington had plenty of fantasy goodness last season and should still be able to step up again, if needed. With 6 games of 5 plus receptions in 2011, he showed he can be a PPR producer. Now the Titans want to open things up and he gets the chance he could be cheap trick.
Other Deep Options: Devon Bess, Vincent Brown, Darius Heyward-Bey, Brandon LaFell, Eddie Royal

Burleson to Mentor Young |
Nate Burleson has made a nice career for himself and after 10 years of service, he has no issues helping to groom the young WRs on the Lions.
“Being that I’m 10 years in and have had a decent career, mostly known as a great complement to big-time receivers, I’ve never thought about big-time accolades,” Burleson said. “I understand I’m not going to make the Hall of Fame in the NFL, my goals are more just winning a championship, leaving the game healthy.”
Burleson has always been a class act and is treating the situation like a true veteran.
“I told Titus, I said, ‘Look. There’s no question that you’re brought here to take my position. That’s what you’re brought here to do. And by the time I’m done, you should be ready to take that and you should be on your way to a new contract. And if you’re not in those two positions, I don’t think I did my job well enough.’”
Titus Young has been rising up the fantasy charts after many OTA Reports surfaced calling him “amazing”‘ and “outstanding” by folks close to the team. The Lions are going to try and run the ball better this year, but truth be told, the passing game is their strength. Young has a current ADP in the 8th round, so owners are already reaching for him in the middle rounds. I would like to get him a little later at this point, but if he can really emerge opposite Megatron, he could be in for a big season.
