We all know that the Giants’ RBs are in a battle to see who will be the ‘starter’ or at least get the majority of the carries. Wilson is the dynamic talent who just needs to be on the field. Brown is just a guy. A hard working guy who excelled at the goaline last season, but nonetheless, he’s just a guy. Tom Coughlin was not exactly pleased from what he saw from Wilson when it came to his pass protection.
“He has to learn that you don’t cut people at the feet of the quarterback, that’s not going to accomplish anything,” said Coughlin. He also said Wilson will “learn that”.
Andre Brown uncharacteristically fumbled in the game, but Coughlin wanted to point out his good job in pass pro. “Andre did a good job of chipping last night and did a good job helping when it was obvious help was needed.” added Coughlin.
I’m still confident both guys will produce this season, but Wilson has superior talent and gives the Giants an added dimension to their offense. Brown should not be ignored though and it looks as though he will be on the field if he can do the little things.
