I will go through 20 burning fantasy questions leading into the season. Question #2: What WR in a new uniform will keep or exceed their fantasy value the most?
Pierre Garcon, Robert Meachem, and Vincent Jackson were big free agent acquisitions this off season, but what guy will meet or exceed their expectations this season. Garcon should be a low end #2, but I don’t trust him completely. Meachem has never been consistent nor has he ever been to #1 guy. Vincent Jackson couldn’t stay consistent even with Rivers at QB. Now he drops the talent of his QB. I’m staying away.
Brandon Marshall has been stuck in a Fitz-like QB purgatory over the last 2 seasons, but still managed to rack up 80 plus catches and over 1,000 yards. He only scored 9 TDs in the last 2 seasons combined, but he has only hit double digits once.
In his 2 seasons with Jay Cutler, he averaged 103 receptions, 1,295 yards, and 6.5 TDs. I see no reason why he can’t match these numbers in 2012. His catches may end up in he 90 range and his yards may be in the 1,200 yard range, but I think he is in store for his second double digit TD campaign.
The Bears offense will be much improved in 2012 as my only worry will be the offensive line. If Cutler gets the protection he needs, there will plenty of fantasy goodness to go around. I’m loving me some Marshall this season. Reunited and it feels so good.
